As it turns out, they didn't kill or seriously injure Stinkoman. Come on. Think I would've had to go through burning Stinkoman and make him on the verge of death again? Maybe if you enjoy watching Stinkoman suffer (such as someone I know). So here's a compromise between not injuring Stinkoman but using a very cool-looking beam. At least the beam was good at cleaning the yolk off of Stinkoman (so you can say it's a washing beam, but it's not water).
A reason why a gun in 20X6 might require plugs is that this gun might be that it was made years ago. In fact, there was going to be a panel somewhere where Stinkoman would've said, "Hey! That's my grandmother's gun! It doesn't look anachronistic anymore, or something like that!"
Originally, what the Terrel in the last panel was going to say would've involved the use of a modified verison of the "Screw the rules, I have money" line from Yu-Gi-Oh: The Abridged Series, but in the end, that was going to be a lame punchline, so here's a slightly better one.
By the way, the Stinkoman sprite in the second panel was made by Mitchell00.
