Commentary
So this is the event analogous to Peter Parker getting bitten by that spider, or that one Daredevil guy getting blinded, or the Hulk getting his powers. You know. The hero getting his powers.
So here, we have 1-Up's first appearance. You may notice he looks like he has a little more common sense than the 1-Up you know now. Time can change IQ. That, or maybe it's just shock from this event. After all, he was this close from getting hit by (and possibly possessing) a green power vessel (or power crunch, if that's what you prefer). But then, things would've been different. Level 5 might've been easier...
As you can see, because the asteroid's magic, the damage it created is much different than a normal asteroid's. It didn't completely vaporize Stinkoman or create a crater. It just did this.
So those are some special effects made on Macromedia Fireworks.
Also, the Stinkoman sprites are made by/based on the sprites made by Mitchell00.
