Well, summer's over and my last year of high school is here, and once again I feel obliged to start working on my fanstuff again. Not sure how many of you are aware of this by now, but my computer was in a basic sense struck by lightning and it completely wiped the hard drive clean. It's still perfectly usable, just had to reinstall Vista, but pretty much everything on it from when I first upgraded back around by birthday in late April is gone. The only up-to-date thing that was saved was my Super Mario World hack, which I thankfully had backed-up on my email account.
Fortunately my previous computer that I used before switching to my new one is still up and running, with all my files from the time intact. So now I have all those onto my computer. To give you an idea of how far back that is, the most recent comic on my hard drive was Number 182. Although since I haven't been terribly active this summer, probably the sole crushing loss was the eradication of my powerful Pokémon Emerald warriors. Poor Flamekip, my lead Blaziken. Other than that, I didn't lose much that wasn't already online.
So in today's comic, it seems that the Cheatballs have run into some expected complications. Anyone who played the game should be able to predict what happens next. Since I currently can't find my copy of Paint Shop Pro 8 (again!), I had to use good ol' MSPaint to make the special effects for the fourth panel. A huge pain in the butt, but I think it turned out pretty well and gives it that personal touch that a cheap Photoshop filter lacks.
