In this comic we establish the fact that 1-Up knows Stinkoman is headless. Of course, the original punchline idea was something on the lines of "You know what, Stinkoman? There's something different about you. I just can't quite figure it out..." I didn't use this for two reaons: Number 1) I didn't want to have to explain the situation to 1-Up in the next comic, and Number 2) I didn't want 1-Up to be that dumb.
Also, I made 1-Up leave his suitcase and Pan Pan, so I don't have to do the extra work of adding them into the next few comics. Aren't I clever? :P Also, I never bothered editing Stinkoman's head out of his third running sprite (laziness, yo), so he only has two headless running sprites. Is that a problem? Not really.
So all in all... either 1-Up thought Stinkoman would want to visit the moon without his head or Pan Pan told 1-Up of Stinkoman's apparent condition in the first or second panels of this comic here. Either of those. Probably the first.
