Summary

Back at the F.B.I., Commander Adam Redman tries to convince everyone that Free Country USA is a threat to Project Delta

Places: F.B.I. Hallway, F.B.I. Meeting Room, Wenham's Office

Transcript

{Samuel and Adam are quickly walking down a hallway. Samuel has a clipboard covered with papers in his hand. They pass several other agents as they walk.}

ADAM: {angry} What do you mean it's gone?

SAMUEL: I already told you. I sent them an email, which was deleted by the recipient. And then shortly after the whole town dissapeared!

ADAM: What, off the map?

SAMUEL: Yah! No trace was left of it! It's gone!

ADAM: Oh my god! This may be a bigger threat to Delta than I thought.

SAMUEL: Well, what do we do?

ADAM: Call everyone together for an urgent meeting. Now!

SAMUEL: Yes sir.

{Cut to the meeting room. It is a big auditorium with many agents sitting in the seats around a round stage. Each seat has a tiny desk in front of it. Adam and Samuel are standing on the stage, with a projector screen behind them. A map is projected on the screen, showing the area around Free Country, USA.}

ADAM: {from the podium} I'd like to thank you all for meeting use here at such short notice.

VOICE FROM AUDIENCE: Just what's this all about, Redman?

ADAM: I'm glad you asked. Shortly after Project Delta became official, a small town in the center of the country appeared, as if out of nowhere. My assistant, Mr. Samuel Franson informed me of it only a few days ago, after briefly checking over the survey area. He has attempted to make contact with its residents but-

ANOTHER VOICE FROM AUDIENCE: Just who are these residents you speak of?

ADAM: Creatures. Certainly not human. But they are able to interact just as we do.

SAME VOICE FROM AUDIENCE: What happened with contacting them?

ADAM: Deleted. All of our messages were ignored and destroyed.

THIRD VOICE FROM AUDIENCE: So why the sudden meeting?

ADAM: It's dissapeared. The entire town has vanished from all of our maps. Now, I believe this could cause major problems with-

FOURTH VOICE FROM AUDIENCE: Do you happen to have a picture of these, now lost, residents?

ADAM: Just one. {To Samuel} Bring it up on screen.

SAMUEL: Yes, sir. {Pushes a button in his hand}

{The projector screen goes black for a second, but finnally appears with a picture of Homestar standing in the field, as he did in First Time Here. The crowd becomes outraged}

RANDOM VOICES: What is this? Are you honestly showing us a cartoon, Redman? Is this some sort of joke? You called us in here for this? What's the matter with you? {etc.}

SAMUEL: {To Adam} Mr. Wenham wants to speak with you, sir.

{Cut to David Wenham's office. The walls are grey and a large desk sits in the center. David is standing in the corner, angry. Adam is sitting in the chair in front of the desk.}

DAVID: Did you honestly expect for us to believ you, Adam?

ADAM: It wasn't a joke!

DAVID: I've put up with some of your crap before, but this has just gone too far. You brought everyone in the facility together, away from Project Delta, just so you could show them a cartoon?

ADAM: I'm telling you, it's a threat to Project Del-

DAVID: Are you kidding me? Free Country, America? Sounds more like-

ADAM: It's title is Free Country, USA, sir.

DAVID: So what. The point is that you obsess of fake little things like these. But you have never gone as far as you have today! I should probably have you fired and thrown from the building! In fact-

ADAM: {jumping from chair and begging on the floor} No! No, please, sir! It was honestly not a joke! Please do not terminate my job here! It's all I know! All I ask is for a small team! Just a small team to help me track down the residents and get rid of them! Just in case they are a threat! Please, sir, PLEASE!

DAVID: Get off the floor, Redman. {He gets up} I'll supply you with a small team. You have 5 weeks to figure this thing out. Don't make me regret this. You'll recieve your team tommorow. {Adam nods and begins to leave} If you screw this up, it'll be the last thing you ever do here.

ADAM: Yes! Thank you, sir! I won't let you down! {runs off}
