I quite like the way this turned out. I originally planned for it to be a standard four-panel comic, similar to this, but when I started to add the background to panel 2, I realised I could just extend it all. So I did! With the handy Burn tool in Fireworks, making it was pretty easy once I got the background. While I'm yattering on about the background, I might as well mention the new process I concocted for the kitchen. I seperated the kitchen into three layers - the walls (the floor should also be a seperate layer, but I haven't implemented it yet), the stuff outside the windows, and the glass for the windows. This way I can change the scenery outside the kitchen and the windows with very little effort. Now that I've finished talking about my leet backgrounding skillzorz, I can continue talking about the comic.
It appears that the explosion from the atom decompression knocked 1-Up and Pan Pan across the kitchen. It also establishes where the broken fridge and main part of the kitchen are relative to everything, which is a convenience for both you (the readers) and me (the author). Take note of the toaster - if you've been paying attention to the comic (WHICH YOU SHOULD BE) you'll know why there's smoke coming out of it.
Finally, 1-Up and Pan Pan have gotten pretty dirty from the dust and stuff from the explosion. 1-Up and Pan Pan lost their precious shine.
I need to spend less time on comments and more time on comic making. >.>
