The Stinkostorm

One day, Spyrox6 made a comic. It was pretty bad, with an author insertion. Months later, he came up with another comic, which was really sloppy. Sloppy sprites, and all that crap. Now, Spyrox6 has practiced behind the scenes, and learned the No-no's of Sprite comics. Spyrox6 presents:

The Stinkostorm!

So what's newer than the other comic series I made? Well, I learned a few things that I improved on:

  • Real sprites: "Wait a second, the pencil tool existed!?!?" That's what I said when I figured how to make real sprites. The edited sprites will look more generic, and clean.
  • Easy to read dialog: Taking a cue from Reynard and Metroid 3rd derivative, and his "Talk bubbles are for squares." Instead, you'll have colored words with outlines, and different fonts. Readable on backgrounds.
  • Close Ups that don't mess up the sprites bitmap: Oh man! If this comic becomes a success, I want to thank NachoMan for helping me find out how to do this. Now I can continue my comics with some self-esteem.
  • Facial expressions: Not just Stinkoman, but enemies too! Now it looks more real! Horray!
  • No author insertions: I was in my other two comics. That was bad. Even more bad news then will befall a team of bears. If you do an author insertion, kill him off. IT'S BEEN DONE!
  • Original plot!: "Once upon a time, some shadowy figure spied on Stinkoman, and did some cliche shifty character stuff. Such as attacking him with some boss or other ultimate enemy." "That comic story sounded like the other comic story you read yesterday." It's true. I've seen too many comics that involve some Shadowy figure attack Stinkoman with an enemy or boss, or quite possibly, as pointed out by Joshua, some type of Stinkoman Clone or recolor. That's not going to happen here. NEVER!
  • Photoshop'd special effects: N00bs always dream of using Photoshop to make their comics better. That's not the case. It took me, an experienced Photoshop user before, to master sprite comic effects. This will include "Opacity, gradients, blurs, darkening" all of that stuff.
  • No fourth wall breaks: That's not funny. Just because the Stinkoman game did it, doesn't mean you can. They actually did good, and funny. They did it as a way to parody video games. It's been done. MAKE IT STOP!
  • No Stereotypes: A world where 1-Up doesn't like pudding!?!? Has the Apocalypse come?!?! Nope. It hasn't. I've given into this stereotype before. But now, I realized that Mitchell00 and his 1-Up Emails has brainwashed some users, which lead into a chain reaction. It's not his fault. It's the people that don't realize that 1-Up hasn't been proven to be a pudding addict. Ekul is probably the first to not give in to this stereotype, and I applaud him.

Now people who want to make a good sprite comic, follow those rules that don't involve photoshop, and you'll probably be rockin!
