To Start
- You must have completed the following criteria in order to start this quest:
- You must have completed the "Controllism" quest.
- You must have Homestar's Mega Hovershoes. If you don't have them, you can purchase them at the Front Deck's vending machine.
- Start this quest at the following location:
- Giant Crow's Nest
Part 1: Clever Dan
Talk to Swabbie Dan, who isn't evil, at the Crow's Nest. He will say that he knows how to change the crew back to being good. Follow him to the Secret Room. There is a large computer inside, with a screen. There is a picture of every crew member on it, except Dan and the captain. Dan will explain that the other crew members were robots all along. He and the captain aren't. Homeschool had reprogrammed the robots to turn them evil. Since the captain isn't a robot, but is evil, he always was evil. You'll need to find out why he's evil.
Part 2: Protecting Dan
You will have to battle enemies until Dan fixes the machine, which will take ten minutes. But there is a catch: after defeating five enemies, Homeschool will enter and instantly defeat you. The cheater! So, try to stop the battles from ending, by any means necessary. Just play defensively, and you'll be OK. After Dan finishes, a message will appear on the screen:
Dear losers, Hahaha! I suspect you are looking for the reprogramming switch? Well, it isn't here! Sorry, I must have misplaced it somewhere. Silly of me, really! Have fun looking for it! You'll never find it! Hahahaha! With hate, Homeschool P.S. Homestar, you are a crapface. Hahaha!
Dan will leave to find the switch. If you stay and hide under Homsar's hat, another message will appear:
What?! Whadda mean the vending machine's not workin'!? Don't you remember? That's where I hid the switch!
Follow Dan outside.
Part 3: Rescuing Dan
When you come outside, Dan will be missing! However, you can't rescue him yet, because enemies are surrounding you. Defeat them, and go to one of the Below Decks, it doesn't matter which one. You will see an enemy carrying Dan away. Chase him. If you get into a battle, run away. If you can't find Dan, wander around. You'll find him eventually. When you attack the enemy who is carrying him, defeat him, and you'll rescue Dan.
Part 4: Helping Dan
Dan will thank you, and say that you really need to find the switch. He'll be waiting in the Secret Room. Go to the vending machine. The switch will be on sale for $500. If you don't have enough money, defeat enemies until you do. Buy the switch, meet Dan in the Secret Room, and watch the cutscene. The Evil Crewmembers will become good again, and another message will appear on the screen:
Homestar, What's your problem!? All I'm doing is imprisoning the world in Armaggedon forever! Can't you just leave me alone? I was going to use this ship to transport parts for my various robots, but you seem intent on ruining that. Oh well, I guess I'll destroy you all. See you later, but hopefully not! H.S.W.
Part 5: Protecting the Ship that is the Home of Dan
Walk outside. Now, you must fight 50 straight battles, each harder than the last. After fights 10, 20, 30, and 40, you'll have a chance to heal. Once the fights are over, talk to Dan. He'll tell you that you should find weapons in the Videlectrix Arcade that can help you defeat the enemies. Go there. Use the Realitifier on all of the arcade machines. When you get back to the Deck, watch the cutscene of the video games battling the monsters, and watch a huge spaceship approach.
Class X-409 Zian Battleship HP:5500, 100, 100, 1000 Attacks: Missile Barrage, Cannon C, Cannon B, Turret Attack, Swoop, Main Cannon Strategy: The Battleship is seperated into 4 sections: The main body, two turrets, and the cannon. Missile Barrage is somewhat damaging, and hard to dodge. Quickly defeat the turrets to stop them from using Cannon C and B. Turret attack will bring them back to life, however. Use an attack that damages all enemies whenever they return. Next, destroy the cannon. It uses the devastating Main Cannon, which is unavoidable and deadly. Once it is destroyed, the ship will begin to use Swoop, where it quickly charges at you. It is hard to dodge, but if you use a high-jumping character, you can avoid it. Keep hitting it with your strongest attacks, keep the turrets dead, and dodge Swoop, and you'll be fine.
Part 6: Victory! ...With Dan
Watch the Battleship crash on a planet below. Dan will give you the next sphere, for the Skies of Far Off Lands. Head to the Control Room to trigger another cutscene. The evil captain will accuse Homestar of being the bad guy, and banish him from ship, rather forcefully, by throwing you and your party off the ship! You will automatically start the next mission, "Eavesdrop 101." Maybe you'll find out why the captain is evil in another quest.
