Fun Facts
Trivia
- At the time this page was written, 24% of the listed toons were not available on DVD.
- The Blu-Ray is only missing three of the toons that directly mention Decemberween: A Decemberween Pageant, the interactive Snowglobe, and the Email what I want.
- In the main Holiday, Halloween, and Other Holidays menus, Strong Sad plays the remixed Goblin theme. In the Decemberween menu, he plays an instrumental of "Happy Dethemberween".
- The following is a list of characters who ride rockets in the Other Series menus. Boldfaced groups also ride rockets in the main Other Series and Marzipan's Answering Machine menus. Underlined groups appear twice in their respective sub-menus, exploding the second time.
- Puppet Homestar, Puppet Strong Bad, the Kick The Cheat doll, and Shark-Tooth Bubs (appears twice in the main "Other Series" menu, but does not explode)
- The Exact Same, Puppet Marshie, Doreauxgard, and Frank Bennedetto

- Bubs' Concession Stand, carried by Strong Mad
- Club Technochocolate, with Bubs and Coach Z performing on a light-up floor
- Trogdor, accompanied by Strong Bad and The Cheat
Remarks
- This DVD could be said to have one section menu for each land at the Magic Kingdom, although the attractions referenced appear at multiple Disney Theme Parks.
- Indeed, sometimes the menus explicitly refer to other parks' incarnations of attractions. For instance, the Magic Kingdom's version of "It's a Small World" does not have dolls promenade out of the clock tower, although such promenades occur at incarnations of the ride with an outdoors queue. Also, when this page was written, the park played a different electrical parade ("SpectroMagic") than the one referenced here ("Main Street Electrical Parade"), although it did move to Magic Kingdom later in the year.
- Additionally, Mickey's Toontown Fair had yet to be demolished when this page was written, but does not have a section menu here.
- The Teen Girl Squad rockets are in color, but their passengers are still black and white.
Inside References
- The jacket image mentions The System is Down.
- Skulls come out of Strong Sad's organ.
- The Electrical Float Parade contains several inside references:
- The drum mentions Cheap as Free.
- Two floats depict modified versions of scenes from The 4Tst Annual Fall Float Parade.
- Strong Bad is dressed as Ultimate Strong Bad as he marches alongside the Trogdor float.
- The parade is immediately followed by the Poopsmith sweeping, a la mile.
- "More rides and dreams than you or your mother could handle" sounds similar to "More rides than you or your grandmother could handle," a quote from Email theme park.
- Strong Bad's costume in the Big Toons menu matches the one he wore while hosting "Strong Bad's Amazing Feats of Wonder" in retirement.
- At the Small World-themed tower:
- The sundial resembles Strong Sad's Severed Head, albeit with a visible pointy nose.
- French Homestar from Ending #3 of "Halloween Potion-ma-Jig" makes an appearance.
- Strong Bad uses the Italian Chef disguise from "Date Nite".
- The Cheat dresses as George Harrison, as he did before in anything
- Strong Sad wears a Dashiki, as Homestar did in original.
- Marzipan dresses in the Frida Kahlo costume from "Happy Hallow-Day".
- Strong Mad dons the Nikolai Volkoff costume from "Jibblies 2", with the Ruskie flag included this time.
- Coach Z cross-dresses as a can-can girl.
- Bubs dons a Native American outfit similar to colonization.
- Pom Pom has a black belt and headband, paralleling Theme Song Video.
- The King of Town boasts his pickelhaube from "Ever and More!"
- The Poopsmith wears a sombrero and a poncho similar to ones Homestar wore in original.
- Homsar wears lederhosen.
Real-World References
- The Toons menu resembles Dumbo the Flying Elephant.
- The Shorts menu features an homage to Pirates of the Caribbean.
- The Music Videos menu was inspired by Splash Mountain.
- The Holiday menu is modeled after scenes from The Haunted Mansion.
- The Other Series menu loosely resembles Space Mountain.
- The Bonus menu was inspired by the Main Street Electrical Parade.
- The video that plays if you wait too long on the main menu was inspired by It's a Small World.
Differences Between Website and DVD
- "In Search of the Yello Dello" only contains the new version of the toon, the deleted scenes and the commentary (as spoken by Homestar and Strongs Bad and Sad), which can be viewed by clicking on the "audio" button of your DVD remote, just like all other DVD commentaries.
- In the Halloween toons, all the Homsar scenes, as well as the Easter Eggs at the end, play automatically.
- As well, you no longer have the opportunity to see who is dressed up as who at the ends of them, like you can on the website. Instead, you have to find the Easter Egg to properly identify costumes.
- Due to DVD space constrictions, "Halloween Potion-Ma-Jig" is only presented in the version that automatically picks these choices:
- Water: Ghost Water
- Powder: Powdered Thanksgiving
- Essence: Essence of Putting Strong Mad's Hand In Warm Water While He's Asleep
- Stirring Utensil: Terlet Brush
- Magic Words: "Betta Ax Somebod-ay"
- In "Doomy Tales of the Macabre," Homsar has been added to Strong Sad's "surprise party," standing in between Strong Bad and Marzipan.
- The Special fanfare during "The Best Decemberween Ever" has been changed into a skat remix done by the Chapman Bros. However, the original fanfare can still be heard during the commentary.
- In the scenes of "Teen Girl Squad Issue 11" with the Shirt Folding Store Manager, a photo-type glue stick can be seen in the lower right corner.
- In "Marzipan's Answering Machine Version 9.2", Homestar's fake Strong Sad message comes before his self-impression.
- The link at the end of "Strongest Man In the World" to read the Original Book has been removed.
- The Easter Egg in "Where My Hat is At?" to read its original story have been removed.
- In "Marshmallow's Last Stand", the music from The Good, The Bad and The Ugly is replaced with custom music sung by the Brothers Chaps probably due to copyright reasons; however, the original soundtrack can be heard during the commentary.
Blu-Ray version
- In "A Jorb Well Done", the Coach Z Talker has been removed.
- In "Kick the Can":
- The music is an edited version of the music heard in Parsnips A-Plenty instead of The Entertainer, most likely due to copyrights.
- All of the versions of the cartoon play one after another.
- The cartoons are shown in fullscreen, as opposed to being shown in The Old Movie Reel Room.
- In "Happy Hallow-day", instead of cutting to the group shot after the end title, it fades through black to the shot. During the fadeout, the teeth on the Homestar skull disappear.
- In "Fan Costumes '08":
- The option of toggling from one picture to another has been disabled.
- The screen fades out when the slide show ends.
- The Peacey P pumpkin Easter egg is enabled automatically, as the very last slide before the toon ends.
- In the menu for "Decemberween in July," "Homestar vs. Little Girl" can be viewed by selecting the candy cane.
- In "Teen Girl Squad Issue 1", the Strong Bad Easter egg plays automatically. As a result, the "it's over!" screen appears after the Strong Bad scene and is displayed on the usual splash screen seen at the end of all other Teen Girl Squad issues.
- In "Teen Girl Squad Issue 14", the Strong Badman comic Easter egg about Scantron has had its issue number revised. On the website, it's #87; on the DVD, it's #92.
- In "Cheat Commandos", the Easter egg with all of the Cheat Commandos toys has been redone. Instead of clicking on them individually, they are all shown automatically, one at a time.
- In "A Jumping Jack Contest", the Strong Lib game has been removed.
- As well, the audio quality goes back and forth between higher and lower quality. Usually, it's higher.
Differences Between Blu-Ray and DVD
- "In Search of the Yello Dello" also includes options to watch the old version, storyboards, and the "theatrical trailer" (like on the website) as well as commentary for the old version and storyboards (like Everything Else Volume 2)
- In "Halloween Potion-ma-jig", you are given the option of either picking lines for Homestar like on the website or watching the commentary for the automatic version.
- In "Strongest Man in the World" and "Where My Hat is At?" the viewer can access the original stories (the versions used on Everything Else Volume 2) through Easter Eggs during the "end" screens, or by using the "angle" button to watch side-by-side comparisons of the toons and stories.
Differences Between DVD/Blu-Ray and old DVDs
- In "Kick the Can", in the cartoon where a huge can comes up from behind and kicks Homestar away, the Microsoft Windows XP 'browse' sound has been removed.
- In "Fluffy Puff Commercial", the ability to watch the toon through a silhouette of Abraham Lincoln's profile has been completely disabled.
- In "Ever and More!", Homsar makes an appearance in the toon as another member of the B.O.D.H. His "helmet" is an overturned flower pot. He is first seen singing the "frothy, shanty chant" with everyone else between SB and Coach Z, albeit not really singing, but just speaking and doing it out of sync with everyone else.
- In "Ballad of The Sneak", there is a quick appearance by a new Old-Timey character, The Homsar, an Old-Timey version of Homsar.
- In "Homestarloween Party", The Cheat's Garfield costume is more complete, with ears and a mouth. Also, the 2001 version of Homsar makes an appearance (next to Pop Pom). He is dressed as Bilbo Baggins from J.R.R. Tolkien's novel, The Hobbit (specifically, the version from the the 1977 TV movie).
- In "Halloween Potion-ma-jig," Strong Mad's costume is red and the magic words on the card match the ones Strong Sad and Marzipan use.
- The "Choice Time!" tone plays whenever the sets of choices come up (as on the website), and then play backwards whenever a choice is made.
- Unlike the DVD version, Homestar's automatic transformation in the Blu-Ray version is into the Goblin instead of Cycloptic Homestar.
- In "Happy Hallow-day":
- The two clicks present in the version used for Everything Else, Volume 3 have been removed.
- Near the end, Homsar appears with the crowd when they shout, "Happy Halloween!" and then "Happy Day of the Dead!" He is specifically found between Marzipan and the Poopsmith.
- At the end, when Homestar sees Strong Bad in his costume, he thinks he is wearing an "emo Carmen Sandiego" costume, instead of an "evil Carmen Sandiego" costume. Strong Bad's response is the same, however.
- As well, three additional Easter eggs have been added at the end: for Bubs (between Strong Bad and Marzipan), Coach Z (between Marzipan and Strong Sad) and the King of Town (between Strong Sad and The Cheat). The dialogs go as follows:
- BUBS:
- HOMESTAR RUNNER: Hey, Bubs, what's up with your weird, 2D cartoon coach guy outfit?
- BUBS: Oh, this? Well, I figured that since Coach Z isn't really much of a coach anymore...
- COACH Z: I am so!
- BUBS: ...I'd fill in for him for a while.
- COACH Z:
- HOMESTAR RUNNER: Hey, Coach, I thought Strong Bad and Marzipan typically dressed in drag.
- COACH Z: Not anymore, Ramrod!
- STRONG BAD: Here we go again...
- THE KING OF TOWN:
- STRONG BAD: Hey, Your — cough, cough — Majesty! Nice nautical weatherm'n outfit! What's the forecast for today? Total crap or something? Bah-ha-ha!
- THE KING OF TOWN: I'm just gonna pretend I just didn't hear that one, amateur!
- In "Shopping For Danger," the glitch about the Easter Egg has been fixed.
- In "Marshmallow's Last Stand", the syncing is completely fixed.
- For every toon with a new Homsar scene, the Blu-Ray allows the option of watching the original version.
- Every toon includes a commentary.
