Basic RPG guidelines

  • Talk to everybody.
  • Search pots and boxes and stuff for hidden items.
  • Save your game often.
  • If you have trouble beating a boss, try finding and exploiting it's weakness, or leveling up a bit.
  • Make sure you have enough restorative items to get you through the next area.
  • Resting at the inn is usually much cheaper than using restorative items.
  • Sometimes, a pot or well of water can restore your health and stuff for free.

Hints for this game

  • If you have trouble reading the in-game text, disable Windows' "clear type" fonts.
  • Run in windowed mode to avoid stretched-out-looking or distorted graphics.
  • Talk to the Raftman by the tree at any time after you find him, and he will give you hints on where to go.
  • After getting a raft, go WEST before you travel Eastwards. You should have a chocobo in your party when you go to Midland. (feed a chocobo greens to get him to join you)
  • You can enter Homestar's house at any time both Strong Bad and Homestar are in your party.
  • After you get the airship, many side quests become available. Visit the Raftman to find out where they are. Some side quests are not available until you complete other side quests.
  • Homestar and Strong Bad have different side quests, so visit the Raftman with both of them.
  • The spam fiend does not have much health. Just keep hitting him and he'll go down eventually (he's also weak vs. special attacks)
  • The barrel in your prison cell can restore your HP/MP.
  • DO NOT switch parties if Homestar or Strong Bad are knocked out. When you switch back to the unconscious character, you may get a "Game Over" result.
