1-Up Email #131

Zappy asks 1-Up for his hat through an email. In response, 1-Up claims that his hat is actually attached to his hat and cannot be taken off.

Transcript

{Open to a view of nothing but a metal desk. 1-Up comes in from the side of the screen, as if he is struggling to carry something with his lack of hands. He places an object on the desk which appears to be quite thin. A holigraphic projection appears above the object.}

1-UP: {exhausted} Huff... puff... wow, that was certainly one of the most heaviest computers I ever carried. The Holly 6000, a holligraphic hovery-type computerbox with an IQ of 6000. It can also play Tetris! Now let's see if it can check me some-some email.

{1-Up bashes his head against the holigraphical projection pad. Nothing happens.}

1-UP: Give it a minute.

{He proceeds to bash his head once more against the projector and an email appears onscreen.}

1-UP: {sounding a bit dizzy} Ah, there we go! {brief pause} Just give me a minute... ahem...

{1-Up reads the email aloud.}

Hey extra life!
Hey I like your hat. Can i have it?

1-UP: {reads} Hey, Extra Life, hey! I like your hat! Can eh' have it? From Zapp-eeth-eaur... Zapp-ah-oh-ra... urm... "Zap". You're just "Zap", okay?

{1-Up clears the screen to type his response.}

1-UP: You want to have my hat? I do apologize, Zap. But, this is my hat. I have never once taken my hat off, in fact, I think it was welded to my head during birth. Let me see if I can try and get my hat off first.

{1-Up gets out of his computer chair. The camera zooms out to view 1-Up's whole body. He starts struggling as he moves his torso back and forward, in a way that implies his trying to take off his hat. His hat also twitches slightly.}

1-UP: Ugh... ugh... ARGH! Hur-ACK!

{Stinkoman walks in from the side and stops, crossing his arms, smiling and nodding his head at 1-Up. 1-Up starts stamping his feet in anger.}

STINKOMAN: {hums the Bubble Man's theme from Mega Man 2}

{1-Up stops and looks at Stinkoman. After a while, Stinkoman stops too.}

STINKOMAN: Hey! 1-Up! That was great! You got some rhythm there, star-kid. Someday you'll be a staaaar! {leans forward and holds out "fist", which shines and makes a "shing" sound}

{Stinkoman turns his head and walks off, leaving 1-Up to just stand there, confused. 1-Up sits down on his computer chair once more.}

1-UP: {typing} Well, that's pretty much it. I cannot take off my hat because it is attatched to my noggin'. Let's see if I can ask Pan Pan for some help! But, first--

{1-Up jumps out his chair and takes a spoon from behind his torso and holds it out towards the camera.}

1-UP: ...we eat pudding with a spoooon!

{Cut to a black screen with white text in the font, "Emulator".}

TEXT: "SLIGHTLY MORE THAN FIVE HOURS LATER..."

{Cut back to 1-Up with a lot of bowls of finished pudding sitting on the table beside him near the Holly 6000.}

1-UP: Ah, that was some really good pudding. {jumps towards camera in Japanese anime fashion} Off I go!

{Cut to a silhouette of the field of Challenge City, as 1-Up is seen running along it. Screen wipe, now showing Pan Pan and Cheatball working on a spaceship near a tree. 1-Up comes in from the left side of the screen.}

1-UP: Hey there, Pan Pan, ol' friend! Want to help me with my email return? I'm trying to take my hat off! Oh, the excitement!

{Pan Pan turns to 1-Up, looking annoyed. He makes a gesture with his paw for 1-Up to leave.}

1-UP: You'll help me out? That's great!

PAN PAN: {in anger} {Badalang, badalang}

{1-Up pulls off his hat, revealing a bald head and hands it to Pan Pan.}

1-UP: Here you go. Figure out why I can't get it off.

{Cheatball stares in confusion and leads out a "squeak-ish" giggle. Pan Pan closes his fingers into a fist and punches 1-Up in the face with his hat still in-hand. 1-Up flies backwards as the camera follows him, showing him crashing through multiple trees, a few walls and eventually crashing through the wall to his computer room and landing in his chair; his hat now on his head again.}

1-UP: {pulls at hat} Aw, great! Pan Pan made it worse!

{1-Up turns and starts typing on the computer again.}

1-UP: {typing} Well, in this email, I'm sorry I could not find a way to let you take my hat, but how about I give you this?

{1-Up holds up a gross old wig.}

1-UP: This wig was made by one of the best... wig-makers... in the entire world. Only $9.95, but if you call now, I'll throw in this Halloween mask {holds up a mask, that suspiciously looks identical to Stinkoman's} absolutely free.

STINKOMAN: {distant voice} Give me back my face!

1-UP: Cue new paper.

{Holigraphic, flickering text is displayed on the bottom of the Holly 6000's screen which says...}

Explanations/References

• This email will be considered a reboot to 1-Up Emails, as to disconnect itself from the original 130, however references will be made from time to time, it is supposed to be an entirely different continuity.
• 1-Up's newest computer, the Holly 6000, is a reference to the Red Dwarf character with the similar name, "Holly".
• When Stinkoman refers to 1-Up as "star-kid", it is a reference to the name "Kidstar" which was the assumed name for 1-Up by fans before his official name was announced through the Stinkoman 20X6 game. Since the change from "Kidstar" to "1-Up" in fanstuff, the name is still referenced.
• 1-Up's love for pudding sparked in an earlier 1-Up Email based on Stinkoman's line from the April Fools toon, "Under Construction".
• The "gross old wig" is the same that appeared in the Strong Bad Email "time capsule".
