If for some reason you're having trouble finding the standard color for transparency, here's how to find it:

Most of the time, the lilac-ish color should appear at the bottom of the main MSPaint window. It is on the bottom row, three colors from the right.

If it isn't there, you've got a problem. But you can solve this...

1. Go to Colors > Edit Colors...
2. Click "Define Custom Colors".
3. Enter these paramaters:

Hue: 160

Sat: 240

Lum: 180

Red: 128

Green: 128

Blue: 255

4. Click "Add to Custom Colors". 5. Click the lilac-ish color, click OK, and start working!
