Wait, what the heck happened?

Back in 2008 everybody realised that the wiki was slipping into a quality-dive of no return. Mostly bad fanstuff was being created, and very little good fanstuff was being created. Joshua thought we could solve this by deleting a whole bunch of the crap fanstuff. The idea was not met entirely well with a lot of the users, but it was decided that it was something that had to be done for the FUTURE of the wiki.

It's dot com decided to go one better and delete the entire wiki and start fresh, with only a small number of user-selected fanstuff remaining. Roughly 120 fanstuffs were added to the Glorious Gravy Boat. Once everybody had their affairs in order, the wiki was removed from public view.

This was way back in 2008, right?

The purge took a long time. 527 days, in fact. During this time the only thing the users could do was talk on the forum. A number of users left since they thought it was taking way too long. A lot of users never used the forum, even before the purge, so these users were kept in the dark. Eventually, Dot com pulled through and the purge finished.

So everything is back the way it was.

Not quite! Since we're starting fresh all of the rules have been re-written. They are still essentially the same rules, but make sure you read them thoroughly before getting back into making fanstuff. Once you've done, feel free to get involved again, continue your old fanstuff or make new fanstuff! We're still working on a form of quality control, though, so make sure the fanstuff you create isn't complete crap.

One more thing: over the course of one and a half years a lot of memes and inside jokes have appeared and disappeared. Tread carefully when sprouting something that was trendy in 2008, since you risk making yourself look crazy.

Almost correct! Any fanstuff that was purged was lost forever. There is some fanstuff that wasn't transferred correctly but this will be fixed in due season.

• Stinkoventures!!! - pages were located at subpages of Stinkoman_Sprite_Comics/Stinko-Ventures
• Where's an Egg: The Untold Story - pages were located at subpages of Other_Character_Sprite_Comics/Where's_An_Egg
• Stinkoman 20X6 Custom Levels - pages were located all over the place
• User:Ekul/Comic - subpages and images weren't transferred

There a few miscellaneous pages that are yet to be transferred as well.
