It's another normal day in the Lava Zone.

You've awaken in your personal chamber, the closest thing to home in this lava-filled world.

You're feeling refreshed after a good night's sleep, but you're sure it's only a matter of time before Saargtsson starts ordering you around.

It seems like now would be a good time to try checking your email, but that's when your adventure starts...

But not just any adventure...

Winner Circle

When you win, you're officially cool! Such cool people get to place their names here.

Help & Stuff

Anyone with a basic understanding of and experience with the Thy Dungeonman series should be able to control this game easily, as it plays almost just like them. Even if you're a bit rusty, instructions are included before you start the game. If you need to see them again mid-play, just scream help!

Of course, that doesn't mean it's going to be easy. Saving and continuing were taken out for this very reason! If you get stuck, just try everything. But I tried to not make it too difficult, so hopefully you won't have too many problems. Doesn't mean it's gonna be a cakewalk though.

Walkthrough

What kind of pathetic loser are you, looking for a walkthrough? Go face that game like a man! If you really are a yellow belly, or just can't seem to get past that one puzzle, you can use this. But using it will seriously cut down your awesomeness in the winners' circle, so be warned.

World Map

Get disoriented much? This map features most of the rooms of the Lava Zone you'll be visiting with Tandy-quality imagery and that ever-so-popular microchip format! It should most certainly help you know which where you are in this crazy world.

Minor spoiler warning! - You should probably play around on your own a bit first before using this.

Documentary

Want to know how it all started? We know you do! This documents the important MSN convesations between Joshua and Super Sam that led to this thing getting created.

Easter Eggs

Post Easter eggs you found for others to read! Check out Easter eggs discovered by other users! There are many to be found. Very minimal spoiler warning!

Trivia and References

Remember that inside joke of whenever that made it to the big screen? Saw that one line that you thought you'd never see again?! If so and if not, see all the trivia, inside jokes, running gags and references that made it into TampoBrain. And feel free to contribute your own findings!

Messages

See all the messages that appear in the game, if you don't feel like going through it all yourself (in which case you are both lazy and a commonest fool, but who cares about that?).

FAQ

If you have any of the questions/problems listed here, this is the place for you.

Q. What is this jargle?
A. It's like one of those video games. Like the ones you play on the computer. Except with little graphics and lots o' text! Isn't reading fun?

Q. So is this a Tampo Email? Why isn't in on a subpage?
A. It's not a Tampo Email technically. While it does take place in the current Tampo Email universe and effects the plot, no real email is actually answered. And it's not a subpage of Tampo Emails because it isn't just another feature of the show, but rather a full-blown video game in its own right.

Q. Didn't you just do this with that "bomb squad" thing?
A. No, this is actually quite a different thing entirely. While "bomb squad" was a wiki-based Choose-Your-Own-Adventure game that presented you with two or three choices at each juncture, this is a Flash-based actual text adventure where you type what you want to do and explore wherever you want. It's a lot more open-ended.

Q. What does "XVII" stand for? Is this the seventeenth of something?
A. Naw, that's just a reference to Harvax XVII.

Q. I don't like being splattered with tons of text to read.
A. That's too bad. There is a special surprise at the end that you'll probably like, if you can get there. That's enough incentive, right?

Q. How big is this thing? Is it larger than Thy Dungeonman 3?
A. This thing is very large, and yes, even a little larger than Thy Dungeonman 3. For example, while TD3 had sixteen rooms, this game has around twenty, depending on how you count it. (There are rooms not shown on the map.) Plus, while TD3 can be beaten with a minimum of around 50 commands, this will take at least 100 or so. Of course, we don't have all the shiny pictures TBC's game did.

Q. This is too long to beat in one sitting! Why'd you take out the saving function?
A. I took out the saving function because in my opinion it makes it too easy. If you can save before any risk, it takes away a lot of the challenge. Just remember what you did (write it down if you have to) so you can easily redo any part you had to quit at. And there is a half-way checkpoint in here to help you out.

Q. Err... what am I trying to do? What's my mission?
A. Your first mission is to find your two friends Brody and Stlunko and get them both together with you. It'll be harder than it sounds. But the plot will pretty much take it from there.

Q. I'm stuck! Help!
A. Just look at the basic commands and try everything. Use the 'look' command by itself to study the rooms. I placed quite a few hints in the game to keep you going in the right direction, so with enough patience you should be able to beat it. Dying shouldn't happen too often, so don't worry about that.

Q. I'm rusty on my OCE Tampo. What exactly is going on?
A. If you need a summary plot-wise, the boss trio are currently trapped in the Lava Zone as Saargtsson's minions. Recently they had a bomb sent to them from an unknown antagonist, and Stlunko's been trying to identify its origin. Also, their computer was recently upgraded to the SaargtScreen II, which is just like the original except with a built-in microwave.

Q. This thing is awesome! Will you be making a sequel sometime?
A. That's not funny.

Q. Hey, can I make one of these?
A. If you have (or know someone with) a recent enough version of Flash, yes. Just download Thy Dungeonman 3 and start editing away. Of course, it'll take expertise and a lot of time to make anything decent. It's a lot harder than it sounds, so you better be sure you want to do it. And follow TBC's example and do it with a partner. It's the only way it'll ever get done. And don't ask Super Sam to do it for you if you value your lungs and spleen.
